The Salvation Army provides food for hundreds of families and individuals in Fort Erie each month through the financial and material donations of members of our community.  Those accessing the Food Bank vary in age, gender and race but face a common challenge of financial difficulty.

The Salvation Army in Fort Erie is the local member of the Ontario Association of Food Banks and an affiliate of Food Banks Canada.


Perishable food such as produce are always welcome, but please call ahead to arrange a drop off at 905-871-1592 ext.22.  To make a donation of non-perishable food items please drop them at Sobeys on Garrison Rd. (prepackaged bags are available for purchase), bring them to our office at 255 Gilmore Rd. or our Thrift Store at 84 Wintemute St.

Getting Help

When Can I Come?

The Food Bank is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 12:00 pm – 3:30 pm for regular assistance.  If you are in an emergency situation outside of these hours please contact us at 905-871-1592 ext. 22.

What Will Happen When I Arrive?

We provide help to anyone through the Food Bank with a stated need for assistance. Our friendly intake workers will chat with you and help determine your family’s needs as well as gather important information to allow us to serve Fort Erie better.

How Often Can I Come?

This program is available once a calendar month for full assistance.   You may also come any Monday, Wednesday or Friday between 3:30 - 4:00 pm for pizza, bread and other perishable items.  Please note these are on a first come, first served basis.

What Should I Bring?

New and returning clients of the Food Bank should bring identification for every member of the household, proof of current income for each earner and bags to carry their food.

Our Food Bank is located in the basement of our office at The Salvation Army, 255 Gilmore Rd.
